梅州市客僑博物館新古典設計館長魏金華介紹了抗戰周全爆發后廣東僑鄉兩條主要性命線：噴鼻港—沙魚涌匯路與“駝峰航線”。噴鼻港—沙魚涌匯路在廣東僑鄉因日軍封鎖沿海而與海內聯系受阻時，以沙魚涌郵局作為國際郵件轉運中間，維持著中國與世界40多個國家的國際郵件互換，成為僑匯進進廣東僑鄉最為主要的通道之一。
